HorizonExpat Wealth

How it works

What happens when you get in touch, in order, and what you stay in control of.

What happens, in order

  1. You send your details

A short form: your name, how to reach you, where you live and the topic on your mind.

  2. We call you

Someone from our team calls within one working day, at the number you gave.

  3. We listen and explain

You get a plain account of the issues that matter for someone in your position. There is no obligation and no pressure.

  4. You decide whether to go further

If you want to, we introduce you to a regulated adviser. The adviser's firm is named to you on the first call, before any advice is given or any fees are discussed.

  5. The adviser takes over

They explain the options and the costs in writing. Nothing happens without your agreement, and you can stop at any point.

What we do

  • Explain how the rules in different countries affect your money, in plain English.
  • Publish articles and calculators you can use without speaking to anyone.
  • Introduce you to a regulated adviser if you ask us to.

What we do not do

  • Give financial advice.
  • Hold or manage your money.
  • Ask you to commit to anything on a first call.

What it costs

The first call is free. Any adviser you are introduced to explains their charges in writing before you agree to anything.

Your details

We use your details to respond to your enquiry and, if you ask us to, to introduce you to an adviser. See the privacy policy.

Questions people ask

Who is Horizon Expat Wealth for?

Expats living or working abroad, wherever you are, and people planning to move back home. We publish guidance, calculators and guides for specific groups and situations, starting with British expats, so you can find what applies to you.

Is the first call really free?

Yes. The first call is a conversation to understand your situation and explain how things work. There is no obligation to go any further.

Who gives the advice?

Horizon Expat Wealth is an enquiry and information service and does not give advice itself. If you go ahead, we introduce you to a regulated adviser, and the firm and its fees are named to you before anything is agreed.

Will you tell me to move my UK pension?

Not by default. Whether a transfer makes sense depends on the type of pension, where you live and what you want. Some transfers carry tax charges or lose valuable guarantees, so the right answer is sometimes to leave it alone.

Is this only for one country or one nationality?

No. The site is for expats in general. Some articles and calculators cover one country or one set of rules, such as the UK or the UAE, and each is labelled so you can see at a glance whether it applies to you. We are adding more guides for more nationalities.

How much does advice cost?

The first call is free. If you go further, the adviser's firm explains its charges in writing before you agree to anything.
